Computer generated imagery (CGI) & Visual Effects (VFX) are tools for content creators that give access to an almost unlimited range of possibilities.
Anything from locations, time periods, sets, props to even characters can be created or modified.
From the earliest times, there has been a close connection between arts and technology. The progression from painting with crude dyes to painting with pigments to painting with acrylics; the innovation of mathematical perspective; modern use of lenses and mirrors; and the development of cameras, lenses, emulsions, and film itself were all advances driven by artists.
These advances followed the passion to create a more real, more believable, more fascinating visual effect, and, above all, to tell a better story.
3D visualizations & animations
We create believable worlds, walk-in environments and make the most diverse objects tangible. This way, context becomes understandable: we explain products or visualize an educational topic.
We bring understanding to life.
Design based on reality
Thanks to a wide variety of sensor technologies, we can now capture valuable geometric detail from the smallest to the largest objects - even entire swaths of land.
The whole thing started as an extremely expensive hobby, but now opens up incredible possibilities.
MOTION-CAPTURING
Some time ago, we retired our old optical motion-capture system and acquired several suits from Xsens. We are now able to record a multi-character set in 240 fps. At 100 meters, we have only one meter of drift.
This is absolutely crazy stuff. Believe us!
Let's fix it
in the post
When we see a film depicting fantasy places or characters, we know those places or people don‘t really exist – but we believe in them nonetheless.
When done well, the technical aspects are not obvious. They enhance the story.
Meanwhile, we are able to create photorealistic and absolutely convincing 3D models for realtime-graphics, too.
What used to take hours of processing now runs smoothly with high frame rates even on mobile devices.
REALTIME-GRAPHICS USING WebGL
Our 3D models now go directly to the web and are displayed in the browser.
This was absolutely unthinkable until recently!
COMPUTER GAMES & INTERACTIVE EXPERIENCES
Many of our assets end up in a classic game engine. The applications range from educational (AR) experiences, games, to quite commercial solutions like configurators or product manuals.
VIRTUAL PRODUCTION FOR FEATURE FILM & TV
The top class and an absolutely exciting new trend is the creation of real-time capable virtual sets for complete freedom of camera during production (keyword "in-camera-fx").
