MED-EL is a leading manufacturer of innovative medical devices for the treatment of various types and degrees of hearing loss.
"The Big Awakening" is a commercial - and a masterpiece - directed by Andreas Hafele and produced by Wildruf OG.
The team of Wildruf also turned out those great backplates. We got involved with vfx & compositing tasks on that commercial.
Making Of:
There were several visual effect shots involved and quite complex compositing tasks to be done. That's when we got involved. We're happy that we could contribute to this masterpiece.
Greenscreen-Studio
This is how the corporate movie was enhanceed with greenscreen effects in order.
The picture shows director Andreas Hafele (Hafzoo Ltd.) and DOP Matthias Helldoppler (Wildruf OG) in our facility shooting the backplates for the VFX-scenes.
Set extensions
The final composition of the above shown shot integrated into a virtual set. For those kind of set extensions a LIDAR-scan offers the best possible reference.
One can utilise the scan data just as measurements but it is also possible to generate high resolution geometry based on the pointclouds.
LIDAR Data Acquisition for Previsualization Purposes
Starting in pre-production, lidar can be used for the previsualization of complex scenes by sending a lidar crew out on a 3D location survey. Much as a location scout takes photographs, the lidar crew scans the location and delivers accurate 3D models to production.
These models can be used to plan the logistics of a complex location shoot.
