The City of Helsinki organized a design competition called "Lights over Kruunuvuorenranta" for obtaining the best ideas of how to provide artistic lighting for this new suburb. This completion is part of the program "World Design Capital Helsinki 2012" that is intended to boost the development of the city with the aid of design. The objective of this competition was to create visually, ecologically and technically sophisticated lighting that makes Kruunuvuorenranta to a unique piece of light art clearly visible from the city centre across the water.
Bartenbach LichtLabor qualified out of over 50 entries in the pre-selection process of this international competition together with three other teams from Great Britain, the Netherlands and France. In the final round the Austrians gained the contract for the entire lighting design of the wBartenbachestern coast seen from Helsink.
With a sustainable lighting concept the lighting designers at Bartenbach LichtLabor won first prize at the international design competition "Lights over Kruunuvuorenranta" and once again demonstrate their ability as a major player for designing efficient and intelligent lighting solutions.
